One of the traditions I make a point of following through on each year during the holidays is tackling a jigsaw puzzle. Sitting around the table and jibbering while you work on a jigsaw and the triumph you feel when you find that obscure piece that keeps the puzzle going, well, that reminds me of family.
Often, I take them with me if I travel. Usually, my Dad pitches in with much needed help when we go home. However, Ken and I are on our own this year. We selected a vintage stamp-themed puzzle. You can see it below.
This puzzle has an unusual feature in that the picture on the box has 13 “can-you-spot-the-differences” from the actual puzzle (one such difference is the word “TOGO” on the big purple stamp, which is actually “TOGA” on the puzzle).

Another activity I like to engage in to occupy my time…knitting, of course. This year, I finished several shawls and shawlettes. I gave away a couple of them and kept the two below. These are two different sizes of the Echo Flower Shawl designed by Jenny Johnson Johnen.

So, what special tradition do you observe during the holidays?
